While using WordPress you may want to have your name display differently than the default username display. WordPress allows you to have several options that are within your control.

What are my display name choices? #

You can change your display name on posts to appear in the following ways:

• Display username
• Display your first name
• Display your last name
• Display your full name
• Display a nickname of your choosing

How do I change my display name? #

Your profile is accessible from both your site’s dashboard navigation menu under Users > Profile or by clicking on your name link at the top right hand corner of the black admin bar.

Once on your profile you can edit your first name, last name, and nickname. These can be then used to change your public display name.

Note: When you change your display name on Sites@UMW this effects all your subsites. You cannot have different display names for different sites. This is not true on Domain of One’s Own.
